At Talleres Inox, we are proud to be part of this project alongside the renowned firm b720 Arquitectos, taking on responsibility for the exterior cladding.

The objective

Emphasize the old factory in Poblenou and redefine it as a flagship Smart Building.
The renovation of the old Simón electrical equipment factory to house its new corporate headquarters is an example of the transformation of the city of Barcelona. Where a traditionally rooted company had abandoned its industrial building, it is now reclaiming its historic location to transform it into a cutting-edge corporate building that houses its headquarters and research and innovation spaces.

The façade

Our intervention on the facades sought to preserve the essence of the original structure, incorporating a cassette-type system that resolves the gaps in a simple, elegant, and repetitive manner, while meeting the highest technical requirements.

Commitment to sustainability

The SWITCH building has achieved the most prestigious certifications: LEED Platinum, WELL, and Cradle to Cradle, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and well-being.

The renovation of the building

The renovation of the building highlights the original concrete structure, maximizing the entry of natural light. In addition, an innovative technical element has been integrated:

A glass casing that optimizes light entry and interaction with the outside.

A detailed study of the recess that incorporates a new technical element: a cassette as a complex, technological mechanism with a glass enclosure that offers excellent performance, optimizes solar radiation intake, and is replicated across the entire façade.
