The architectural firm OAB transformed this landmark building on Passeig de Gràcia into an exclusive residential development comprising 69 luxury apartments and three commercial units.

The project involved a complete refurbishment, including the demolition and reconstruction of the façade while preserving only the existing floor slab structure. New vertical circulation cores and roof structures were also introduced. The original façade cantilevers were reduced and enclosed within a new, elegant building envelope consisting of two layers: 50% opaque and 50% glazed.

An Architectural Legacy on Barcelona’s Most International Avenue

The new façade features a carefully balanced combination of materials, where 5 mm translucent marble allows natural daylight to filter through during the day, while at night it creates a captivating play of light thanks to a precisely engineered LED lighting system.

We had the privilege of developing this iconic contemporary building in close collaboration with the renowned architectural team from the very beginning of the project. Our involvement included technical consultancy on the building envelope, as well as the design and fabrication of the steel support structure onto which the marble panels—bonded using structural silicone—were installed. All remaining external cladding systems and support structures were also designed, manufactured and installed by Talleres Inox.

This landmark building is another addition to our portfolio of advanced façade and building envelope solutions, delivered under the direction of internationally recognised architectural practices committed to achieving the highest standards of aesthetics, performance and sustainability—creating architecture designed to endure as a legacy for future generations.
