aparto- Pallars is a student residence located in Barcelona’s 22@ district, with 673 rooms. The residence is managed by aparto, Hines‘ international management platform.
The complex is structured into four large wings joined by a lower plinth that runs along Carrer Pallars, on top of which there is a large communal terrace with a 44-meter-long swimming pool. The comb-like volumetric organization creates three courtyards on the ground floor, so that all rooms have views of outdoor spaces and are in contact with vegetation.
Health and well-being
Batlleiroig, firmly committed to the environment, has designed and constructed a building that is sustainable, efficient, and comfortable for its users.
The Pallars residence plans to obtain LEED Platinum sustainability certification, as well as a WELL Gold rating, which certifies spaces that have a positive impact on the health and well-being of occupants.
The new residence features cozy, home-like spaces in which materials such as concrete, wood, terrazzo, textiles, and natural elements help to create a continuous and balanced atmosphere. Against a neutral backdrop of pastel shades and warm textures that lend timelessness, versatility, and harmony, specific elements in vibrant colors stand out, adding diversity and helping to identify the different spaces. Biophilia is promoted throughout the project, so that at any point in the project there is contact with vegetation, improving the comfort and well-being of the student community.
The façade
In this project, we developed and installed a prefabricated façade using our ACOUSTIC FAÇADE SYSTEM, designed to offer maximum acoustic and thermal performance.
Selective coating glass provides excellent insulation, as well as physical security on both sides, ensuring comfort, efficiency, and durability throughout the entire building envelope.
A space to share and live
With a total area of 26,000 square meters, the residence has a wide variety of facilities, including more than 3,000 square meters of outdoor space, with a swimming pool over forty meters long, a rooftop terrace with a garden, and two additional gardens.
It also has outdoor sports facilities, such as basketball and soccer courts, and an amphitheater that can host presentations, concerts, or evening movie screenings. Inside the building, more than 2,000 square meters are dedicated to common areas, with a gym, yoga rooms, movie theaters, study rooms, a theater, play areas, and a bar.
